Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., has held up the expected approval of legislation extending the funding of the Federal Aviation Administration over his objection to federal spending on bike paths and scenic projects. Coburn's move could result in another lapse in FAA funding and furlough of non-essential FAA employees. However, negotiators are optimistic that the Senate will be able to temporarily extend FAA funding.
