Shell Oil's operations in the Pinedale Anticline Project Area in Wyoming could set industry-wide standards for curbing the environmental impact of natural gas drilling. The company recycles more than 50% of the water it consumes in hydraulic fracturing and has installed equipment that is significantly reducing drilling-rig emissions. "This is a strong statement that says, as one of the premier companies in this business, this is how it should be done," said Shell Oil President Marvin Odum.
