The risk of stillbirth was 2.91 times higher in women whose first baby died within a year of birth compared with those whose babies survived their first year, according to a study in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Researchers also found that stillbirth risk in black women was 9.46 times higher than that in white women.
