Verizon Wireless will activate its Long-Term Evolution network in an additional 26 markets today, bringing its total to 143 since it introduced the technology in late 2010. Verizon, which will also expand existing LTE service in San Francisco, Indianapolis and Cleveland, said its new cities include Daytona, Fla., and Santa Barbara, Calif., along with markets in the Midwest and Texas. Also, the carrier has begun working on standards for developing LTE-Advanced.
