Vestas Wind Systems is "very confident" in its plan to build a factory in the U.K. for its biggest wind turbine, according to Anders Soe-Jensen, chief of the company's offshore-energy division. "Given the fact that the option for land in itself was a significant investment, and the fact that we have people working every day on getting the permits and consents in place, we are very confident that this is going to happen," Soe-Jensen said. Vestas has secured the right to lease up to 173 acres of land in Kent, England, but construction will depend on tax incentives for offshore wind power and whether Vestas gets enough orders for its 7-megawatt turbines, Soe-Jensen added.
