Parvovirus, a potentially deadly intestinal disease of dogs, is increasingly prevalent in many communities and veterinarian Sherri Morris says she is frustrated to see so many animals suffering from the illness when it is preventable with an affordable vaccine. Whether it is lack of information about the vaccine or economic hardship that prevents dogs from being vaccinated, Deana Lancaster, a certified veterinary practice manager notes, "The disease is fatal unless it's treated, and it's very expensive to treat, but it's very inexpensive to prevent."
