The Tennessee Obesity Task Force is pushing lawmakers to add a one-cent-per-ounce tax on sugar-sweetened soft drinks, increase fines for speeding in school zones by $50, and continue funding for Coordinated School Health, a program that gives each school district a student health monitor. "Our policies attempt to raise awareness and create an environment that supports healthier lifestyles," said Joan Randall, the group's director.
