Brash, heroic leaders aren't as good at inspiring innovation as their more introverted counterparts, says executive coach Jennifer Kahnweiler. Introverts tend to be responsive rather than reactive, avoiding costly mistakes and giving employees the confidence they need to be creative. "They take time to build relationships and trust with their teams, encouraging innovative thought and risk-taking," Kahnweiler says.
