Eight in 10 boys ages 15 to 19 had used condoms during their first sexual intercourse, an increase of 9 percentage points from 2002, according to the CDC. Researchers also found that 6% of teen girls used hormonal methods other than the pill during their first sexual encounter, up from 2% in 2002. The results, based on a survey of 2,284 teen girls and 2,378 teen boys, indicated that overall sexual activity and contraceptive use among teens has changed little since 2002, the CDC said.
