Mexico-based juice-maker Jugos del Valle SAPI, which is partly owned by Coke, has reached an agreement to buy dairy company Santa Clara Mercantil de Pachuca. The deal, which is awaiting regulatory approval, would add milk, ice cream and yogurt to Jugos del Valle's product lines.
David G. Hirz, currently president and chief operating officer of Smart & Final, has been named CEO, effective Jan. 1. George Golleher, currently chairman and CEO, will remain with the company as executive board chairman.

Shrawan Nepali has come a long way from his days in a Katmandu orphanage, but his youth flavors both the meals he serves and the way he dishes them up. After a successful run as a restaurateur, Nepali launched Curry Without Worry, which serves a free restaurant-quality meal once a week designed to feed San Francisco's homeless and bring together the city's haves and have-nots.
