Purdue University's Connie Weaver says trying to rely only on fresh and local foods can make it difficult to meet all nutritional needs and that issues such as seasonality and transportation may make it impossible to remove processed or packaged foods from a diet. Cooking Light magazine's October issue lists the best packaged and processed foods available at grocers nationwide, and it includes some surprises, such as potato chips and frozen burritos.
