The Federal Communications Commission asked AT&T's attorneys Thursday for more data to back up the carrier's claim that buying T-Mobile USA would create as many as 96,000 jobs. While the carrier has until Oct. 31 to officially respond, the company said it would bring 5,000 call-center jobs back to the U.S. and had no plans to dismiss call-center workers currently employed by AT&T or T-Mobile USA. The carrier also said that expanding its network would eventually expand employment opportunities.
