Google estimates that it will generate $2.5 billion in mobile-based revenue in the next year, compared with $1 billion a year ago, and says the number of its Android-based tablets and smartphone activations has reached 190 million globally. The company exceeded analysts' expectations for profit and revenue based on its online-search advertising growth, and analysts predict huge gains for its mobile-search sector. Google is also considering the launch of an online music store to compete with Apple and Amazon, according to a published report.
