Frustrated by the idea of working for someone else and inspired by his job at a bike shop, Dan Britton started a company to sell trailers for cyclists to bring their children along for a ride. The company, Chariot Carriers, now sells more than 50,000 carriers a year, with about 40% of its business coming from Europe. Thule Group, which sells a number of outdoors products, bought the company this year.
