The Army Corps of Engineers estimates that its infrastructure on the Missouri River has received between $750 million and $1.3 billion in damage from flooding this year. States hit by flooding also have infrastructure damage and are beginning repairs. For example, a $19 million project is under way to rebuild a three-mile section of a highway near Council Bluffs, Iowa, that crosses the river and goes to the Omaha, Neb., airport.
