Netflix announced it has killed plans to establish a separate business, called Qwikster, for its DVD-by-mail customers, a move that had angered subscribers who would have had to establish new accounts apart from their Internet-streaming service. In a statement, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings acknowledged "moving too fast" to institute changes although the company said nothing about the 60% rate increase that preceded the Sept. 18 Qwikster announcement.
