As more schools adopt systems that give parents around-the-clock access to students' grades online, teacher Heather Wolpert-Gawron writes about the benefits and drawbacks. More parental access will keep them better informed and could eliminate the need for progress reports, she writes, but could bring increased pressure on teachers to grade students' work quickly and use uniform grading programs.
