Demand for financial advisory firms is growing even as prices for such practices are falling, according to buyer-seller matchmaker service FP Transitions. In valuing a firm, FP Transitions found that a higher number of licensed employees, greater client contact and recurring revenue all are factors that increase value. Meanwhile, older-than-average clients, a high level of asset concentration and personal branding can detract from value.
