There's a difference between coaching and mentoring your team members, Bud Kulesza writes. While mentors focus on developing an individual's abilities over time, coaches take responsibility for bringing people together to achieve a common goal. That means setting expectations, providing feedback and encouraging team members to put forth their best efforts. "An effective coaching strategy is not about sharing strategic vision, but about working collaboratively to strengthen members' skill sets," Kulesza writes.
