Executives at the American Wind Energy Association's Fall Symposium in Carlsbad, Calif., called on Congress to extend the renewable-energy Production Tax Credit, which is due to lapse at the end of 2012. "Over the last six years, U.S. domestic production of wind turbine components has grown twelve-fold to more than 400 facilities in 43 states," said AWEA CEO Denise Bode, referring to the years when the PTC was in force. "Extending the PTC will keep growing U.S. wind-energy manufacturing jobs, rather than losing them to other countries," Bode added.
