House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Alberta Premier Alison Redford will hold discussions this week on the U.S. government's decision to postpone a ruling on TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline. "By punting on this project, the President has made clear that campaign politics are driving U.S. policy decisions -- at the expense of American jobs," Boehner said in a statement. Redford, meanwhile, said she remains optimistic the project will secure final U.S. clearance.
