Crews have set in place two of three 50-ton steel gates using a 300-ton crane to seal off the massive concrete basin where Washington state's Highway 520 pontoons will be built, while workers filled pontoon forms with concrete. The gates and pump system will allow the construction team to flood the basin with water from the harbor so tugboats can tow the finished pontoons for storage at the Harbor channel's south side or for delivery to Seattle as the new bridge is built.
