About 150 Illinois school districts have been able to maximize their information-technology budgets through a cloud-computing consortium established in 2009. The IlliniCloud is supported by federal grant money and allows schools and districts to share technology resources that they may not be able to afford on their own. "Even though you have less money, you still need to provide that high level of service to both the school and classroom," said John Pellettiere, an official with technology vendor CDW, which was involved in the program's creation.
