Patients with minor nose deformities, such as humps, bumps, concavities and nasal tip problems, might be good candidates for nonsurgical treatment with dermal fillers and Botox, say dermatologists Vince Bertucci and Jean-François Tremblay. The first step is to ask the patient questions to ensure he or she does not suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, which is more common in patients seeking corrective procedures for the nose than for other body parts, said Tremblay, an associate professor of dermatology at the University of Montreal. The choice of which injectables to use depends on whether reversibility is desired, other facial features, specific irregularities, shape and skin quality, the doctors said.
