Despite longer life spans and the reality that many people will require long-term care as they age, 75% of Americans say they've never talked with relatives about long-term care, according to Genworth's 2011 Financial Reality Check. For people who have purchased long-term care insurance, the two most common reasons for doing so were reaching a certain age and because a financial adviser recommended it, according to the survey.
