McDonald's restaurants in international markets have upgraded their menus with sandwiches created by classically trained chefs, including Austrian chef Toni Mörwald, whose Surf & Turf burger debuted this week. Earlier this fall, Michelin-starred Italian chef Gualtiero Marchesi created two new sandwiches including the McItaly Adagio, an eggplant mousse made with tomato and ricotta salata cheese.
