Mobile-payment volume on PayPal Mobile rose more than 500% on Thanksgiving and Black Friday compared with the same days last year, according to PayPal owner eBay, and other metrics revealed a huge jump in mobile buying from previous years. Mobile platforms accounted for 14.3% of online shopping traffic Friday, compared with 5.6% a year ago, according to the IBM Smarter Commerce benchmark. A number of surveys predict that the trend will continue today for Cyber Monday shopping.
