The Texas Children's Hospital NICU provides individualized intravenous nutrition bags for each tiny patient but faces a supply problem because medications included in the formula are part of the nationwide drug shortage. Dr. Steven Abrams says the hospital has found alternatives that, while not ideal, can reassure families that children have not been harmed by the shortages.
