Diabetes patients who were on hemodialysis had a higher risk of all-cause morality if their A1C levels were above 10% or below 5%, a study found. Poor glucose control, with levels below 100 mg/dL or above 200 mg/dL, was also associated with increased all-cause and cardiovascular morality. The findings were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Nephrology.
