Airlines could triple revenue from ancillary fees by integrating online travel agencies and travel agents into the ancillary-revenue-distribution process, a report by revenue-tracking company IdeaWorks says. Airlines can adopt the use of Electronic Miscellaneous Documents to facilitate a la carte ticket transactions through global distribution systems, which a majority of travel agents use. This gives agents revenue capabilities and expands the distribution of ancillary services, the report states.
