North Kansas City Hospital oncology nurse Megan Sherlock loves getting to know her patients and families, but that relationship was turned around last summer when her husband was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma. She says her expertise helped them navigate the health care system, but her colleagues told her that, in this case, she needed to "leave her credentials at the front door" and not try to manage her husband's chemotherapy.
