Data on 77 male diabetes patients revealed those with obstructive sleep apnea appeared to have more autonomic dysfunction and face a greater risk of hypoglycemia compared with those who do not have sleep apnea. Researchers also found that patients with the sleep disorder had higher body mass index than those without sleep apnea. The findings were presented at the World Congress on Insulin Resistance, Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Disease meeting.
