A small but growing number of colleges in the Midwest are offering programs and services that cater to students with disabilities. Certificate programs such as the Elmhurst Learning and Success Academy at Elmhurst College, offer courses in academics and life skills, plus placements in community internships. Other schools, such as the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, provide support services to help students with intellectual disabilities earn undergraduate and graduate degrees.
