A Japanese study published in the journal Oncology Reports found that delayed phase FDG-PET/CT scans detected abnormal FDG uptake values in all 31 patients with mesothelioma, thus concluding that the method is more reliable than early phase scans in diagnosing the disease. In another study, published in Molecular Imaging and Biology, Indian researchers said dual-time point and delayed imaging may improve the use of FDG-PET/CT in diagnosing the disease.
