A study presented at the American Public Health Association meeting revealed that 75% of obese teens reported trying to lose weight. However, experts found that though dieting obese girls were 40% more likely to exercise for at least 60 minutes a day, they were also nearly three times as likely as obese peers not on a diet to have sugary soda on a daily basis. Obese boys who reported wanting to lose weight also appeared to be more than three times as likely to be sedentary and 47% more likely to play video games for three hours daily than other obese boys.
