Some teachers in Sebring, Fla., oppose a new ban on connecting with students through Facebook and other social media sites. The ban, in place since Sept. 20, is unnecessary because of built-in accountability on the sites and is keeping teachers from effectively reaching their students, they say. "If we really want to reach them and get them to talk to us, we've got to talk in their language. We can't fall back on what we've done when I was a kid. That doesn't work," said middle-school teacher Jean Federico.
