Swap dealers in the U.S. and Europe oppose proposed rules for derivatives as they question their benefits, according to TABB Group. While most dealers are balking at the reforms, they also are developing systems to deal with them. "Whether it be trading connectivity, reinventing prime broker systems for client clearing, implementing straight-through processing software or revamping single-dealer platforms, these dealers are dedicating valuable resources to new technology rollouts, despite such capital-constrained times," said Will Rhode, senior research analyst at TABB.
