While a good portion of this year's tech news involved cloud tools, that doesn't mean the market for Unix servers has dried up, experts say. Unix is still the mainstay of mission-critical data centers, and revenue for Unix servers increased 3.5% in the third quarter, according to research firm Gartner. Experts say IBM is likely to dominate the market in the future as a result of Oracle and Hewlett-Packard backing away from the server market.
