New regulatory violation notices were issued by the Interior Department's Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement to BP concerning last year's oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the notices, BP failed to perform an accurate pressure-integrity test on its Macondo well and didn't stop drilling amid signs of concern. "The issues raised in today's [incidents of noncompliance] regarding drilling margins and related integrity testing played no causal role in the accident. BP intends to appeal these INCs, as well as those issued several weeks ago," the company said.
