Researchers in Germany say they've discovered a vulnerability in phones operating on the GSM network standard that reportedly makes the devices susceptible to hijacking. According to Karsten Nohl of Security Research Labs, the flaw enables hackers to use them to send and receive calls and text messages. The weakness is one of a handful of vulnerabilities discovered in GSM technology, which was developed two decades ago and continues to represent 80% of the global mobile market.
