Data on 42 overweight or obese participants who underwent a 12-week weight-loss program showed those who lost weight had higher resting sympathetic nerve activity than those who had difficulty losing weight. The study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism also found a significant increase in levels of nerve activity following a carbohydrate test meal among those who lost weight more easily.
