Malls, shopping centers and community events are featuring sessions with "sensitive" Santas for children with autism and other special needs. The specialized events are held in autism-friendly settings, with reduced noise and smaller crowds. "Just because a family has a child with special needs doesn't mean they don't want all the same memories that everyone else does," said Darlene Borre, whose son has autism. "We all want those same holiday joyful moments; it just has to be approached differently."
