President Barack Obama said he will veto any measure that connects the swift clearance of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline to a broader tax-cut package. The tax cut is a measure that Republicans in both houses of Congress should support, Obama said. "President Obama said lawmakers should not load the payroll tax bill with a 'bunch of politics,' but it's hard not to see 'politics' in delaying the decision on the Keystone XL pipeline until after the next year's election," said Marty Durbin, the American Petroleum Institute's executive vice president of government affairs.
