Whole-body PET/MR and PET/CT showed similar sensitivity in diagnosing hypermetabolic lesions in patients with various oncological diagnoses, according to a study presented at a radiology meeting. "These results, in our eyes, form the foundation for future studies and validate the added value of PET/MR over PET/CT when you add diagnostic MR sequences for specific indications," said lead author Dr. Alexander Drzezga, who is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.
