A clinical prediction tool known as the "Rule of 7s," which is based on clinical and laboratory parameters, showed high sensitivity in detecting children with cerebrospinal fluid pleocytosis who were at low risk for Lyme meningitis, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. The findings were based on 423 children with CSF pleocytosis living in Lyme disease-endemic areas.
