U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., ranking minority member of the House Financial Services Committee and co-author of the Dodd-Frank Act, said he is against legislation that would put financial advisers under the supervision of one or more self-regulatory organizations. "I'm skeptical of self-regulatory agencies," he said. "I would not want to detract at all from the responsibilities of public agencies."
