Verizon Wireless plans to add seven markets to its Long-Term Evolution network today, a move that will give the carrier more than 200 million POPs. With the additions, Verizon exceeds its 2011 LTE goal by 15 million and reaches nearly two-thirds of the U.S., or 190 localities. AT&T, which has also exceeded its target of launching in 15 markets and reaching 70 million homes, recently announced plans to begin 4G service in New York City.
