A study in the Annals of Emergency Medicine found that a second CT scan is effective in detecting cases of delayed bleeding among warfarin users with minor head trauma who received a negative result during their initial CT scan. Five out of 87 warfarin users with minor head injury who underwent a second CT scan before discharge were found to have hemorrhagic lesions; three of them later were hospitalized and one underwent a craniotomy.
