The proportion of admissions for children with neurological impairment at children's hospitals increased from 11.7% in 1997 to 13.5% in 2006, according to a study in the journal PLoS Medicine. Researchers assessed more than 25.7 million hospitalizations in the Kids' Inpatient Database and found the proportion of admissions for children with neurological impairment fell at other hospitals during the same period.
