FDA guidance documents on off-label marketing are useful, if incomplete, and health care product marketers should study the documents and comment on them, writes John Kamp, executive director of the Coalition for Healthcare Communication. "The challenge for industry in 2012 will be to use this guidance aggressively and responsibly while working with the FDA to support much larger steps forward to advance the public health through improved communications," Kamp writes. The Coalition, along with the Digital Health Coalition, is soliciting input from marketers on best practices for online communications that support patient care while adhering to FDA regulations.
